Transitions College Entrance Test

The Transitions College Entrance Test is used to gain admission to a Diploma or Certificate program for those students who do not have a high school diploma or GED certificate. The test is one and a half hours in length and consists of six short multiple choice tests that cover concepts in English and math.

You must call ahead and book a test; no walk-ins are accepted. Tests are usually booked Monday to Wednesday mornings at 9:30 at the Niagara Falls campus. You will receive results within a day.

The English tests cover the topics of vocabulary, reading comprehension, punctuation, and expression (use of verbs, sentence & paragraph structure). The math tests cover skills and applications (word problems).

English Tests

Test 1 Vocabulary 18 questions – 10 minutes
Test 2 Comprehension 15 questions –  25 minutes
Test 3 Language Mechanics 15 questions –  15 minutes
Test 4 Language Expression 18 questions – 20 minutes


Math Tests

Test 1 Mathematics Computation 15 questions – 10 minutes
Test 2 Mathematics Concepts & Apps. 15 questions – 15 minutes
